You know, I love a lot of things in this world. I love my family, friends, chocolate, pizza, and Netflix amongst other things. Amongst that long list is a good pair of shoes. I’m kind of (really) obsessed with shoes no matter the season. That being said, I’m partial to a really good sandal. Whether you prefer dressy or casual styles, I think it’s important for everyone to have a well-rounded collection.
Luckily for us, there are a ton of really great sandal styles this season! A few of them carried over from last year, but there are a couple we haven’t seen in awhile. So, without further ado, here are the top 5 summer shoe trends of 2017!
The wedge has come back from seasons past! I feel like the last time the wedge was a super trendy item was in the late 2000’s, but it’ll be everywhere this summer! The best part of wedges? Extra height with less risk of twisting your ankle because you’re on one level surface. Rad!
The lace up trend is still around from last year! Personally, I just tense up at the thought of having to take the time to lace my shoes up my ankle, so I’m going to pass on this trend. This is the perfect sandal style for everyone with more patience than me, though! Plus, your tan lines will be iconic.
This is one of my favorite summer shoe trends! I love little block heel sandals because of many reasons. 1) They’re easy as frick to walk in. 2) They give me an extra inch or two of height. 3) They’re the perfect mix of dressy and casual!
Another favorite of mine is the slide. Whether you’re more of a classic Birkenstock type of person or a Fenty x Puma gal, you’re going to want a pair of slides this summer. They’re the perfect shoe if you’re on the go because they literally just take .3 seconds to put on!
Mules are another sandal style that stuck around for a year! Wait, would you consider mules a sandal? I mean, the toes are open, but they provide a bit more coverage than the typical sandal. Well, whatever you would classify them as, they’re a great classy and dressy option for the summer!
