Statement Making Fashion: Pins and Patches

Fashion is defined as a popular trend, especially in styles of dress and ornament or manners of behaviorI think it should also be defined as a fun way to express yourself, but Merriam-Webster isn’t responding to my carrier pigeons. No matter the definition, everyone should use fashion as a way to express themselves. Whether you prefer to wear bright and colorful clothes to show off your fun personality, dresses to express your femininity, or literally a shirt that says “I need coffee”, your style makes a statement.

There’s a fashion trend that’s popping up everywhere now that I am all for: pins and patches. These are a super fun way to make a statement! Since they’ve become so popular, you can find a ton of different styles and icons in pretty much any accessory store.

I found a couple pieces recently that are adorned with pins and patches. One of them is a fun bag adorned with charms from Charming Charlie! I can’t find it on their website, but it was a very recent purchase, so you should be able to find it at your nearest store if you like it! The other piece was a t-shirt from H&M with a couple of “boob flowers” as my mom calls them. Boob flowers or not, I think it’s a super cute tee!

This look is kind of eclectic, but I loved it anyway! It was perfect for walking around downtown Chicago on a very hot day!

  11. You mom’s boob flowers comment haha! And love the bag – I’m not a fan of patches, but I love pins! Does that bag have them already on there, and is that cutout pattern an actual cutout? If so, that would be great for pins – you wouldn’t have to poke holes in your leather/ fake leather bag!
