Hello, all! Welcome once again to the ever-so-wonderful Bachelorette Recaps on Five Foot and Fabulous. I’m your host, Anna, and I am irritated at the show as per usual. Let’s get started, shall we?
The boys are back again, and they’re on Rachel’s turf this time. It’s time for them to meet Rachel’s family, and this is the last time they’ll do so for the show. Talk about pressure, am I right? Let’s waste no time and get straight into Peter’s experience.
Before Rachel brought Peter home, she took him to a store to buy a gift for her pregnant sister, Candace. Rachel learns that baby clothes aren’t a one-size-fits-all, and Peter learns that stripes are the best way to impress Candace. I agree, stripes are awesome.
I believe that Peter had the best experience out of all the men. Rachel’s family took a huge liking to him, but her brother-in-law tried to get Peter to dish on things he didn’t like about Rachel. I see what you’re doing, buddy, and that’s pretty shady.
When Peter got a chance to talk with Rachel’s mom, he told her that he probably would not be ready to get engaged to Rachel by the end of the show. Thus, he wouldn’t ask for permission to do so. Rachel’s mom was all about this answer since she believes the show’s process is way too fast to fall in love with someone and get engaged to them in 10 weeks.
All around, Peter seriously impressed the family, and Rachel’s cousin made it clear that he should be the winner. I whole-heartedly agree!
Peter vs. Bryan drama
After Eric left for his date with Rachel, Peter and Bryan were left to talk. Bryan was being self-absorbed as usual and said he just wanted to show Rachel’s family how much chemistry him and Rachel had as a couple. Meanwhile, Peter is not amused at all. He calls Bryan out and literally says:
“I don’t want to be sitting here with you right now.”
God bless you, Peter. God bless you for finally calling out Bryan. You gave me life.
Dallas people, help me out, because for the life of me, I cannot figure out what building Eric & Rachel visited before meeting her family. It looks like its made out of a bunch of giant paper towel rolls, but I am 98% positive that is not the case. Send information my way, please!
Anyway, everyone was anticipating this home visit since Eric had not met a girl’s family for 7 years. That’s a long time, buckaroo! Honestly, it went a lot better than I thought it would! Constance (God bless her, as well) was asking a few hard questions, but she ultimately put her stamp of approval on Eric.
A big thing that happened: Eric requested permission to ask Rachel’s hand in marriage if he were to win the show. Rachel’s mom approved it, and Eric was quite happy! Nice!
Ugh, Bryan. Him and Rachel wore the matching gazillion dollar watches. Ick.
So before meeting the family, Rachel took him to lunch to meet her friends. They really liked him (yuck).
The meeting with Rachel’s family did not go quite as well. I think her family saw Bryan for who he really was: a player. He said that he considered Rachel his girlfriend after the first week, and Constance was not amused by this. Thanks for giving him a reality check, Constance!
Also, Rachel’s mom thought it was too early for them to “love” each other. While I totally agree, Rachel got a bit mad and said that they must have different interpretations of the word “love.”
Rachellll, listen to your family!!
It’s fantasy suite time!
Eric gets the first date this time, and it starts out with them going on a helicopter ride! Rad!
They also go to this cool monastery where Eric makes a wish by ringing the bell three times. He wishes he’ll finally be able to tell Rachel that he loves her. *Cue “Awww” audience sound effects*
Eric and Rachel have a heart to heart conversation over dinner, where he finally tells her that he’s in love with her. This pushes Rachel to give him the fantasy suite card! He obviously accepts, and they go to spend the night in the hotel.
So Rachel and Peter start their date at this wine cellar, and they get sung to by a drunk Spanish man. He sings to them about falling in love and having a million kisses, and things like that. Kinda funny, kinda awkward.
They also get their very own little cellar with their names on it: Raquel y Pedro! Rad!
After having a discussion over wine, they get interrupted by a little girl and get to go stomp grapes. I’m a bit jealous because I think stomping grapes would be super fun.
Then comes a heartbreaking scene with Peter. They were talking about engagement, and Peter said that he would be 100% committed to her but didn’t think he was ready to be engaged and set a wedding date. Rachel said that they didn’t have to set a wedding date because an engagement is just commitment on steroids. They don’t really come to a compromise, and the episode ends with Rachel in tears, saying:
We get all the behind the scenes drama and confessions from the boys that have already gone home! What kind of stuff will be uncovered? Will we get to hear the infamous Whaboom again? Will Lee stir more things up? I guess we’ll find out next week!
