Ivy League Wannabe Chic

I’ll be the first person to admit that I’m not filled with oodles of school spirit. Sure, I like my school, and it would be cool if we won some sportsball games, but I’m not going to go out tailgating or paint my face red and gold. Ya know what I mean? Honestly, I feel like I would be different in that sense if I had gone to an Ivy League school.

I remember searching for schools that offered an apparel program and being so mad when Harvard or Yale didn’t have one. Didn’t they know how big the fashion industry was? I mean, it’s not like I was actually going to go to Harvard even if they did have an apparel program because it wouldn’t have been plausible for me. I would’ve liked the chance, though! Instead, I had to live vicariously through Rory Gilmore and be jealous that I couldn’t join the Life and Death Brigade.

Anyway, this outfit made me feel like I was walking on an Ivy League campus. Perhaps I’m meeting a friend for coffee and a philosophical chat? Or maybe I’m heading to the student newspaper room to get a head start on my article (Rory Gilmore, who?). There’s just something about a turtleneck and pea coat that makes you feel accomplished!

Turtleneck Merona // Jeans Forever 21 // Coat Pink Envelope

Boots Sam Edelman // Bag Karl Lagerfeld

So maybe I didn’t go to Princeton, Dartmouth, or Hogwarts (totally Ivy League, right?), but I can’t say I didn’t enjoy my experience at a boring ol’ state school! I’m definitely thankful for the education I received!
