It wasn’t too long ago that if you mentioned the phrase “pink lipstick,” I would’ve run the opposite direction. After all, my main lipstick color palette is essentially made up of shades of red and brown. However, I was recently given the Rimmel London Provocalips liquid lipstick as a gift, and dang is it a bright pink! By the way, this post isn’t sponsored by Rimmel, but if someone from the PR team is reading this, I certainly wouldn’t be opposed to a collaboration *wink wink*.
Anyway, I had to use this lipstick since it was a gift! I’ve been trying to incorporate it into my daily makeup routine by wearing it with looks I would traditionally wear red with. Since I have a pretty achromatic wardrobe, it’s not that hard! Plus, this particular lipstick comes with a color sealing gloss, so I don’t have to reapply nearly as much as usual! If you’re looking for a good dupe for LipSense, this could quite possibly be the product line you’re looking for! (Again, not sponsored, just very happy with the product).
If you’re still not convinced that pink lipstick isn’t a part of your aesthetic, I urge you to think again. There are a ton of ways to wear pink lips, and I’m going to highlight some of them today!
1. Go for an all black and white look
Nothing is better than a total achromatic look from head to toe! Instead of opting for a dark or neutral lip color, try going for a bright pink. Regardless of what you may think, pink can totally be edgy. Just purse your lips and embrace your RBF, and no one will think any differently!
2. Coordinate it with an accessory
I got a bright pink choker around the same time as getting the lipstick. I realized that they were a near perfect match color-wise, and I knew they had to be styled together! By adding another splash of pink into your outfit somewhere, the pink on your lips seems a bit less out there. This is the perfect way to go about it for those who are still unsure if the color is right for them!
If you’re really ambitious and enjoy wearing color in all your garments, go all out! I wouldn’t suggest a total pink look from head to toe, but you do you, homies!
3. Be confident and have fun with it
No matter what color lipstick you wear, the key to rocking it is through confidence. So put on that pink lipstick and walk out with pride! You got this, girl!
