It’s that time of year again: Valentine’s Day. The whole seasonal section of Target has turned absurd shades of pink and red, celebrities are releasing all sorts of love songs, and happy couples are all over the place. Enter me, stage right, perpetually single gal with a love for chocolate. The only man I need is my cat (Shoutout to you, Lucky!), and I may or may not buy myself my own flowers.
Thank goodness for a little thing called Galentine’s Day. If you’re unfamiliar with the term, please refer to this Parks and Recreation quote by a Ms. Leslie Knope!
There you have it. If Leslie says it, it’s official. Galentine’s Day is a great, alternative way to spend the holiday. Get all your fellow single ladies together and celebrate your singledom!
To get you started, I’ve put together a gift guide that your friends will love for Galentine’s Day. All of these are under $75!
Along with all these items, here are a few other things you can do for your friends on Galentine’s Day
Sure, you can get Hallmark cards for all your friends, but what’s the fun in that? Go one step further and make your galentines yourself! They’ll be more personal and heartfelt, which is essentially what this holiday is all about!
Get your bestie some flowers
If your best friend is single, she probably won’t be expecting any flowers this year. Imagine how happily surprised she’ll be to see that you got her some! It doesn’t have to be a huge bouquet, even just a few flowers can make her happy!
Order a heart shaped pizza
Papa John’s typically does a heart shaped pizza the week of Valentine’s Day. How fun would it be to order one (
or ten) and watch some movies?
Have a spa night
It’s Galentine’s Day, time to indulge! Get some face masks (or search Pinterest for some DIYs) and treat yo self. Eat ice cream, paint your nails, do whatever you want to do. There are no rules for Galentine’s Day!
