I never really liked sports or outdoor activities. In elementary school, I was thankful for every day off because it gave me a chance to stay in to read, watch movies, and maybe play with Barbies. Needless to say, those activities made my imagination run wild. Sadly, I lost some of that imagination when I grew up. I’m going to school, I’m working, and I’m getting acquainted with the real world. Instead of curling up on the couch to read a new book, my free time is often allocated to getting something done.
When I was younger, I wanted to make it to my 20’s and stop aging. I still wanted to live, obviously, but I didn’t want to show signs of old age. That is one thing that hasn’t changed since grade school. I’m terrified of the prospect of losing things like mobility, dexterity, and hearing. My ideal solution would be a one-way ticket to Neverland, but alas, Peter Pan is only a fairytale. I’m doing my best to accepting the concept of growing older, and I’m determined to always stay young at heart.
We stumbled upon this art exhibit while we were out taking photos, and it brought out the young girl in me again. It was simply magical.
