It’s that time of year again! I’m all moved into my college apartment after a summer out of town. I wish I had been able to keep some of my stuff here over the summer, but since I live on school property, I had to leave my room open in case someone needed to take summer classes. It’s a bit irritating, but since I only have one semester left of school, I didn’t have quite as much stuff to bring with me this fall.
If you’ve been reading this blog for awhile, you might know that I posted a tour last year; however, I changed a lot of the decor for this year. I didn’t want to bring a bunch of wall art because canvases and posters take up a lot of space during the packing process. It was a bit of an adjustment since last year my walls were plastered with them, but I’m honestly a fan of the cleaner look!
The tapestry was a gift from my team at my internship! It’s a great centerpiece for my room and it holds a special meaning to me. Since my old houndstooth comforter terribly clashed with it, I had to get a new one. Luckily for me, I found this gold one on sale at HomeGoods for only $25! I couldn’t get a good picture of it because of the lighting in my room, but trust me, it’s cute!
All of the furniture in the room (wardrobe, desk, and bed frame) come with the room. The bed can be lofted for more space, but I prefer keeping it lower to the ground. I can still store some things like shoes and small containers under there, though!
Since the desk is pretty plain, I always like to add a little personal touch to it. I decided to put up my polaroid prints from Printiki. They add the perfect amount of personality to my desk. I also found an adorable desk plate at HomeGoods! As I am a fashion major + blogger, I felt like it was a great addition to my work area.
All in all, I’m really happy with the way my room turned out this year! I’m looking forward to a great semester of living here.
