*This is not a sponsored post, I just want to share my experience with affordable makeup brands!
Hi, my name is Anna, and I’m kind of cheap. Not cheap in a tacky way, more like cheap in a “what can I get for $3” kind of way. Being a college student, I strive to get the most I can for the least amount of money. As a result, I often go shopping at places like Target where I know I’ll find great product without breaking the bank. About half my closet is Target branded, along with most household items like cleaning products and decor. I also love going to Target to get affordable makeup!
Don’t get me wrong, I love Sephora and Ulta as much as the next girl, but I also love spending only $8 on foundation. When I’m at those big name beauty stores, I can hear my wallet yelling at me to RUN. Usually at a place like Target or Walgreens, my wallet only urges me to jog or walk away at a brisk pace.
Today I’m going to share with you my top 10 FAVORITE affordable makeup products! They should all be available at pretty much any drugstore!
CoverGirl truBlend Liquid Foundation ($8)
Starting off with the basics, CoverGirl truBlend liquid foundation is great if you’re looking for long lasting coverage for your everyday routine. I originally got this foundation because I am quite pale with a yellow undertone, and this was the only drugstore foundation I could find that wasn’t overly pink.
Note: If you live an especially active lifestyle or just get kinda sweaty, this probably isn’t the best foundation for you. It does tend to wear off after an especially long day.
Maybelline Fit Me! Concealer ($4.89)
Gotta cover the bags under my eyes somehow! Maybelline Fit Me! concealer is a great product. It’s not perfect at covering large blemishes, but it definitely makes them a lot harder to see. It doesn’t come in a super wide range of colors, but if you blend it well, it should do its job!
Maybelline Fit Me! Bronzer ($4)
I noted earlier that I’m especially pale, so I use bronzer on occasion to add a bit of color to my face. I don’t know enough about bronzer to give you a full review, but I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars if that means anything to you!
NYC Haute Definition Liquid Eyeliner ($3.57)
Up until like 6 months ago, I used a pencil liner. The NYC liquid eyeliner basically changed my life. It has one of those felt tip applicators, and it’s very easy to apply. You rock, NYC liquid eyeliner.
Note: You may need to touch it up halfway through your day.
Rimmel London White Eyeliner ($4)
If y’all don’t know the wonders of white eyeliner, let me break it down. Step 1: Grab your white eyeliner. Step 2: Put it on your waterline. Step 3: BOOM! Bigger eyes instantly!
My eyes are on the smaller side, so I really do appreciate white eyeliner magic. This Rimmel London liner is not only inexpensive, but it also stays on throughout the whole day. Super rad!
CoverGirl Full Lash Bloom Mascara ($6)
I’ve tried basically every color of the CoverGirl mascara line. Orange was fab, purple was okay, but now I’m #TeamPink. I feel like it makes my lashes fuller and longer than the other colors. It comes in both waterproof and regular, but I always go with the regular. However, after accidentally buying the waterproof one time, I can tell you that it is 500% waterproof.
Revlon ColorStay Eyebrow Pencil ($6.80)
I have had a rocky relationship with my eyebrows. Although I do mostly still prefer my left brow, I have finally found a shape and size that works for me. Part of that is thanks to this eyebrow pencil. It’s a soft pencil on one side with a wand on the other side. It keeps my brows looking full but natural. Thanks Revlon!
Maybelline Lipstick ($5.59)
Maybelline is my OG lipstick brand. Even though it’s not the best, I have an emotional connection to it. I can always rely on it to have a wide range of hues, and the color usually lasts about 6 hours before you need to touch it up.
Note: If you eat, you will need to touch up the inside a bit. Otherwise, it stays on pretty well!
BONUS: Blending Sponge from TJ Maxx ($9.99 for a 3 pack)
Who needs to get the original $20 beauty blender when there’s perfectly good dupes out there! I don’t recall the exact brand my blending sponge is, but it definitely does the job.
Unrelated, but can we just talk about this trend of using random objects for a beauty blender? Don’t go wasting hard boiled eggs with foundation, friends! Eggs are meant to be eaten!
As I said with each description, I’m not saying these products are the best things since sliced bread. All I’m saying is that there are perfectly good options out there if you don’t want to spend your whole paycheck on foundation and a single tube of lipstick.
